Welcome to the Parent Faculty Association (PFA) web site.
For those of you that are new to our school the following information will explain how the PFA operates. The PFA includes every parent that has a child at Chaparral. We have 31 event committees that you can help out with at any time during the year. If you are interested in learning more about a particular committee, click on the get involved icon and detailed information will be given.
Chaparral has three major fundraisers during the school year. Show of Support (SOS) kicks off the new school year and is followed by the Roadrunner Golf Classic and Auction in October. Spell-a-thon, our third major fundraiser, begins in January. These fundraisers help to support our field trips, assemblies, art masters program, computer supplies and much more. Parents have made it clear they would prefer not to put so much time and effort into the smaller fundraisers, such as wrapping paper or selling cookie dough, but instead focus on making the major fundraisers successful.
The only other fundraising is for our 6th grade classes. The 6th grade classes attend Science School at the end of the year and fundraise throughout the year to offset the cost per child for the camp. During the school year, you will see a variety of fundraising products. Please do not feel obligated to purchase them; but do know it will help out the 6th graders tremendously, if you do!
PFA meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in the multi-purpose room. Childcare is provided for a fee of $1.00 per child.
